Humanitarian issues in eastern Chad Pt1: The challenges of living in Djabal refugee camp

Issued on:

The first in our 5-part series on humanitarian issues in eastern Chad, RFI's Laura Angela Bagnetto speaks to Darfuri residents of Djabal camp, located just outside of Goz Beida town, near the border with Sudan. Many have been in the refugee camp since 2003, when they fled the violence inflicted by the Janjaweed in Darfur. While many went to vote for their representative at the well-organized camp, their struggles still haunt those who have hopes of returning home.
