British Prime Minister Theresa May is to face a vote of no-confidence in her own parilamentary party this evening, after Tory rebels mustered enough letters from Conservative MPs supporting the move. Between 1904 and 1908 more than 75,000 Herero and Nama people were massacred by German colonial forces in what is now Namibia. Many died in concentration camps.

What was in effect the first genocide of the 20th century has received little attention, but as descendents of the survivors ask Germany for reparations, France is putting the spotlight on the genocide with an eye-opening exhibition at The Shoah Memorial - Paris's museum dedicated to the Holocaust.

The exhibition at the Shoah Memorial in Paris runs through to 12 March 2017.

The report was made in conjunction with La Marche du Monde, RFI's history programme in French.
