French police arrest Rwandan genocide suspect
Police in France have arrested a man in connection with the 1994 Rwandan genocide that killed an estimated 800,000 people. Eugène Rwamucyo, a doctor in Northern France, is wanted by authorties in Rwanda for planning and carrying out atrocities in the Butare region in the south of the country.

His arrest near Paris comes nearly three months after French police detained Agathe Habyarimana, the widow of Rwanda’s assassinated ex-President Juvénal Habyarimana, and one of the alleged masterminds of the Tutsi genocide.
It also follows President Nicolas Sarkozy’s landmark trip to Kigali in March during which he said France would do everything possible to ensure that all those responsible would be brought to justice.
