Cameroon's presidential election campaign kicks off

The campaign for the 9 October presidential election in Cameroon kicked off at the weekend. President Paul Biya, who has ruled the central African country since 1982, is widely expected to win a further seven-year term. He is running against 22 other candidates. Among them is the opposition leader John Fru Ndi of the Social Democratic Front.
