Is the US conflict minerals campaign a force for change?

A new campaign against so-called conflict minerals aims to encourage students and educational establishments to stop purchasing electronic goods manufactured using minerals such as Coltan, that come from conflict zones in countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo. But just how effective is this latest campaign likely to be and what impact does the certification of conflict minerals have? Amani Matabaro, researcher for the Enough Project, and a leading Congolese activist with the Conflict Free Campus Initiative talked to RFI.
