Somali pirates have seized an Iranian-owned cargo ship and its 23 crew off the Maldives Islands. The vessel identified as MV Eglantine was seized off the island of Hoarafush. The Maldives has arrested 37 Somali pirates so far. But piracy remains a problem in this Indian Ocean archipelago. Peter Cook, a former Royal Marine officer with extensive experience in maritime security, comments.
