Europe buys most of Sierra Leone's illegal fishing catch

An environment watchdog says almost all the vessels fishing illegally off the coast of Sierra Leone are selling their catch to the European Union. After an 18-month investigation the Environmental Justice Foundation said it found evidence of several illegal practices. The EU has set up regulations to curtail illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing. But campaigners say it remains rampant in Sierra Leone and other Gulf of Guinea countries, says Andy Hickman of the Environmental Justice Foundation.
