Gender equality in Zambia

Issued on:

Although women make up 52 per cent of Zambia 's thirteen million population, relatively few decision-making positions are held by women. More than one in ten women aged between 15 and 49 have had no education while forty two percent of women working in Zambia are either paid in kind or not paid at all. This is despite the fact that the Zambian government has ratified all the international and regional conventions on gender.
