Christian-Muslim tension grows in Nigeria

Religious tensions in northern Nigeria have been heightened following the suicide bombings of churches and other violent attacks on Christians by the Islamist group Boko Haram. Nigeria is divided between a predominantly Muslim north and Christian-dominated south. Many Christians living in the north have been fleeing to the south to escape the violence and this has led to growing tensions between Christians and Muslims.
