Journalist jailed for defaming a Chinese-run hospital in DRC

RFI looks at the case of Joachim Diana Gikupa, an editor of a private newspaper in the Democratic Republic of Congo who has been jailed for defamation. Gikupa was convicted in December for publishing an article alleging a Chinese-run hospital sold expired medication. His lawyers say he should be released on bail pending an appeal against the conviction.
