RFI interview with Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama
Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama held talks with President François Hollande in Paris yesterday, fresh from attending the African Union summit in Addis Ababa. RFI interviewed him immediately after his meeting with the French president.

President Mahama praises France for its contribution in rolling back the invasion of northern Mali by Islamist militias and its continuing commitment to the country despite announcing it was pulling its troops out in the coming months.

He also talks of the security threat in northern Nigeria and the once-strained relations between Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire.
And he expresses his confidence that the expanding oil and gas sector will be a blessing, not a curse, as it often has been in other states on the African continent.
