South Sudan releases political prisoners to Kenya

After weeks of bitter and tough negotiations, South Sudan President Salva Kiir finally released seven out of eleven political prisoners into the custody of Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta. The fact that four opposition leaders remain imprisoned underscores the challenges still facing the young nation, despite the ceasefire that was signed on 24 January. These lingering tensions have left Kenyans who were evacuated from South Sudan unsure of what to do next. Two Kenyans speak about their experiences in South Sudan.
