Illegal immigrant hit by train near French Italian border
An illegal immigrant was hit by a train in Menton, near the French Italian border on Tuesday morning and incurred slight cuts on his scalp but no serious injuries.

Police say the man, who was around 30 years old and from central Africa, was walking along the side of the track near a level crossing about 500 metres from the border.
On seeing him, the train driver pressed his horn but the man suddenly decided to cross the railway line to reach a companion on the other side.
He was hit by the train which clipped him on the scalp and he fell on his side.
“Luckily he suffered only cuts to the scalp, the skull was not affected,” said a police source.
The man was treated at the scene of the accident and then taken to hospital.
