Liberian schools close in bid to stem Ebola spread

Issued on:

By this time of the year, schools in Liberia should have opened for the 2014/2015 academic year. But the Ebola outbreak which first hit the country six months ago has prevented schools from re-opening, and kept many students at home. The delay is part of a nationwide strategy by the government of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to tackle Ebola.
