Egypt is famously a dry place, with most of the country made up of desert. Most places in Egypt get less than 80 millimeters in rainfall annually, and the country is on the verge of a water scarcity crisis. This is exacerbated by pollution of the Nile, Egypt's main resource for water. But as RFI reports, hydroponic farming systems could prove to be the next phase for Egyptian farming, as they use far less water to get the same result.
