In the second part of our series on Tunisia’s fledgling democracy, we look at corruption. It was rife under the regime of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who was president from 1987 until he was toppled in the 2011 uprising. He siphoned billions of euros, mainly from the private sector.But, as RFI’s Clare Sharkey has been finding out, tackling corruption in the new democracy is not always easy.
