Trial of LRA commander Dominic Ongwen starts again
The trial of Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) commander, Dominic Ongwen, begins again at the International Criminal Court today.
In December, Ongwen pleaded not guilty to seventy counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Hague.
As a former child soldier himself, the accused maintains that he should be treated as a victim of the LRA, rather than a perpetrator.
In his home district in northern Uganda, opinion is divided.
Grainne Harrington reports from Gulu district, on what used to be the head of LRA territory.
