European aerospace Airbus on Monday signed a three billion-euro deal with the Brazilian airline Azul to deliver 35 Airbus A320neos.

"Azul has chosen Airbus A320neos to extand its national fleet and to fly Campinas-Salvador and Canpinas-Recife" Airbus said on Monday.

Azul has already ordered 28 others A320neos through a leasing contract.

"Azul services all over Brazil with more than 100 destinations", said US-Brazilian entrepreneur David Neeleman.

"With additional seats we will reduce our exploitation costs" said Neeleman.

The deal is worth 2.9 billion euros at Airbus's catalogue prices though discounts are routinely given.

Airbus is also to sign an 11 billion-euro deal with the US company Delta Airlines to deliver 50 long-haul carriers.

Earlier in November, Airbus announced an 8.1 billion-euro deal with the Chinese Aircraft Leasing Company to deliver 100 planes.

The new Airbus Neo has already recorded more than 3,200 orders with 60 clients, and has 60 per cent of the market share compared to 40 for its rival Boeing with the 737 MAX.
