In the city known as the birthplace of jazz, musical traditions run deep, and in New Orleans, the musicians are absolutely central to its cultural identity. Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, the gigs dried up and many musicians were forced to make a living elsewhere. Ten years on, most of them have returned to the "Big Easy" stage and today the scene is thriving, as Richelle Harrison Plesse reports in the second of our five part series on New Orleans.
