Childcare workers in the United States

The past few years have seen the minimum wage increase across the United States. With the national minimum wage at seven dollars and twenty-five cents an hour since 2009, many cities and states are now passing their own, local wage increases. The pressure to do this has come from fast food workers, and employees at big chain stores. But there’s one class of worker that’s become a bit of a conundrum for the movement: childcare workers. Andrew Stelzer reports.
