More than 200 Pakistani Taliban attacked a security post in the north-western region of Orakzai on Wednesday, according to the army.

Pakistani government forces have increased their attacks in the Orakzai and Khyber regions in recent weeks, saying they have largely cleared Taliban strongholds in other areas.

Unconfirmed reports say 47 Taliban fighters were killed and 42 injured in clashes in the same region on Sunday night and Monday. The region is a closed military zone, making it hard to independently verify the death toll.
