Reconciliation in Sri Lanka after 30 years of civil war is a tough call. The war with Tamil Tiger guerrillas ended in 2009 after a government military offensive which has been accused of being brutal and inhumane. The government has set up its own post-war commission called the Lessons Learned and Reconciliation Commission. But critics say it is not enough to start healing the wounds. Sri Lanka's ambassador to Paris, Dayan Jayathillaka, speaks about the government's approach to making Sri Lanka whole in a culturally diverse population against a background of decades of communal and intra-communal resentment.
