India sees growth of gay tourism

Issued on:

For long homosexuality has long been a hidden, and even illegal, aspect of Indian life. But after a Delhi High Court decriminalized same-sex intercourse in 2009, sensitivity toward gay people and bisexuals is growing in major cities. The growth potential for gay tourists is so high that it has attracted even established players to the emerging travel segment and gay tourism helped India post strong growth for 2011.
