Growing concern over sacking of Sri Lanka Chief Justice

Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapakse sacked his Chief Justice Shirina Banadaranayke after she made several decisions at odds with the government. Ahead of the dismissal, Britain, the United States and the Commonwealth Secretary General had expressed concern over what is seen by most of the judiciary in Sri Lanka as an unlawful impeachment, and one that was even politically motivated. RFI spoke to Sam Zarifi an international lawyer who has been following the process since it began in November.
