'Confluences' new literary festival attracts writers to Mauritius

A new literary festival wraps up today on the Island of Mauritius. It's called Confluences, and like the Indian Ocean island, the festival reflects the languages most widely spoken there - Creole, French and English. The festival attracted a variety of writers and personalities from France, Madagascar, South Africa, India and China. Among them was Sri Lankan author, Romesh Gunesekera, who talked to Rosslyn Hyams about his work, multicultural literature and the future of reading and writing. His latest novel is called The Prisoner of Paradise.
