Pakistan's Nawaz Sharif puts economy, energy and corruption at top of agenda

In his first speech after being endorsed as Pakistan's new prime minister, Nawaz Sharif told parliament that the state of the economy was "beyond imagination". Improving the economy, the power supply and clamping down on corruption are primary concerns, not only for the incoming government but also for Pakistanis. But Sharif also called for an end to the US drone attacks on Taliban suspects in the nortwest of Pakistan, which are very unpopular. RFI spoke to Imtiaz Gul, the executive director of the Centre for Research and Security Studies in Islamabad about the problems facing Nawaz Sharif's third term in office.
