Issued on:

Illegal migrants in Thailand are facing new exploitation as they attempt to register with authorities. The government wants as many as two million workers from neighbouring countries Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos to legalise their stay. But, having already paid agents to find them work and corrupt officials to stay in the country, migrants are now being charged over the odds to secure visas and work permits.
