Rana Plaza victims want compensation from French companies

Issued on:

It has been nearly a year since the worst garment factory accident in history. On 24 April 2013 the Rana Plaza collapsed in Bangladesh. Inside the building were garment workers producing clothing for some of Europe's biggest brands. Over a thousand people were killed, twice as many were injured. Since then, labour activists in Bangladesh and Europe have been asking companies to contribute to a victim compensation fund, but not many have. French and European organisations recently invited one of the victims on a tour of European cities to put on the pressure in person.
