Internal armed conflict in Nepal may have ceased in 2006 but the region continues to feel the effects of family separation brought on by the 10-year conflict. Eight years have passed since the Comprehensive Peace Accord was signed but families of many of the disappeared still do not know what happened to their loved ones. According to various estimates the conflict left nearly 13,000 people dead and over 1,300 missing.
