Children affected by the earthquakes in Nepal

Issued on:

After two major earthquakes in Nepal, in less than three weeks, the psychological impact on children is tremendous. Thousands of children and their families are camping out in the open across the country after the second quake on 12 May, that left many too afraid to return home. It is estimated that at least 1.7 million children are affected by the earthquakes, with some 260,000 having lost everything – their homes, their clothes and tragically sometimes their families.

In the outskirts of Kathmandu, young children have gathered at a temporary learning space. It is an informal center for them to play and learn.
