Elderly in India part 4/4

Issued on:

While the Indian government focuses on supporting the youth, there is very little support for those who are no longer part of that demographic. The primary issue is how to provide older people with a life of dignity and care when they do not have the ability to live independently.  The second is to minimise the costs of the aging society on younger generations. It's a problem that most countries are struggling with, and especially India, which has the second largest population in the world. Murali Krishnan has this final report in a four-part series on the elderly in India.
