Last century's avant-garde on show in Paris

Issued on:

A collection of about 100 paintings from Paris's early 20th-century avant-garde movement is currently on show at the Grand Palais. It features work by the greats - Cézanne, Picasso and Matisse - that were collected by the Steins, an American family who lived in the French capital in the early 20th century. It has taken five years and the involvement of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the National Museums of France to bring the exhibition to Paris.
