Beauty and birdsong on the border between Rwanda and Uganda are delivered to The Sound Kitchen this week in the luggage of RFI’s Sarah Elzas.

Welcome to The Sound Kitchen. You can catch the programme on-the-air every Saturday, at our new times: 6:10, 14:45 and 16:45 universal time. You’ll hear the winner’s names announced and the week’s quiz question, along with all the other ingredients you have grown accustomed to: your letters and essays, On This Day, quirky facts and news, interviews, and great music … so be sure and tune in every Saturday.

This week’s quiz answer: In March, Susan Owensby asked which three parties came out on top in the first round of local (departmental) elections held on 21 March here in France.

The answer is: The UMP, the Front National (or National Front) and the Socialist Party.

The winners this week are: Ms Rehsa Prakash, Kathmandu, Nepal; Kinkoh Ignatius Nfon from Bamenda, Cameroon; Mozifur Rahman, from Sylhet, Bangladesh; Subhankar Basak, from Burdwan, West Bengal, India and Shahzad Shabbir from Sahiwal, Pakistan.

Congratulations, winners!
