The Zadkine Museum is showing a collection of drawings and etchings taken from his experiences during World war one, as an ambulance driver and stretcher bearer. RFI's Rosslyn Hyams went to visit one of the French capital's less well-known beauty spots.
The tone of the exhibition echoes in a contemporary way via an installation by film artist Chris Marker. Marker's work is inspired by T.S. Eliot's poem, The Hollow Men (1925). Zadkine's permanent collection of modern sculptures embrace them all.
Years after the Russian artist Ossip Zadkine died here in Paris, in 1967, his home was eventually turned into a museum, to house his work.
