Cannes Film Festival makes space for Andrew Steggall's Departure along with Abel Ferrara's Alive in France

Alex Lawther plays a teenage poet in Andrew Steggall's Departure, a coming-of-age film set in post-card-pretty south-west France

In this month's Cinefile, Rosslyn Hyams talks to director Andrew Steggall about his poetic coming-of-age film Departure, and to Dounia Sichov about her dual role in the rock-music documentary Alive in France directed by Abel Ferrara films, as well as her directorial debut project. Maria-Carolina Pina from RFI's Spanish-language service reveals what appeals in a Latin American feature directed by two women from Argentina and Chile.
