French customs officers caught a Belgian motorist with 500,000 euros euros in his car boot this week, legal sources say. The man also had several grammes of cocaine and cannabis resin in his vehicle.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday night at a rest area on the A62 motorway between the south-western cities of Toulouse and Montauban.
The man, who is "not saying much", claimed to be a drug mule, transporting the drugs and cash for a drug trafficker, according to the regional paper La Dépêche du Midi.
The route is often used by traffickers transporting drugs between Spain and northern Europe, the paper says.
In 2011 gendarmes seized 750 kilos of cannabis, worth 700,000 euros at street prices, packed into a Mercedes that was stopped near Montauban.
