The "silver economy" – services and products aimed at seniors and their families – is one of the few sectors that’s growing in France, about four per cent a year, according to the finance ministry. The French government hopes it will create some 300,000 jobs by 2020. But for the sector to really take off, France has to export its technologies and know-how abroad, exploiting huge markets such as the US and Japan. Ubifrance, a state-funded business developer, is helping small French companies make that leap.
