Seventy-fifth French soldier killed in Afghanistan
A French soldier was shot dead in Afghanistan Wednesday, bringing the number of French losses there since 2001 to 75. Three other soldiers and a journalist were wounded during the same operation.

The dead man, a lieutenant in a parachutist regiment, was killed during a joint operation with Afghan forces in Kapisa province, French officials announced.
Several clashes between insurgents and the combined French and Afghan forces took place during the operation, according to the French general staff.
TV reporter Patricia Allemonière was also injured by flying glass, her channel, TF1, reported.
Kapisa is the province where French troops operate and where two TV journalists, Hervé Ghesquière and Stéphane Taponier, were held hostage for 18 months.
