France and Germany have reiterated their conviction that Greece belongs in the eurozone. French president Nicolas Sarkozy and German chancellor Angela Merkel held talks on Wednesday evening with the Greek Prime Minister. George Papandreou assured Sarkozy and Merkel that his country was determined to respect its commitments. The meeting came as markets are expecting Greece to default and the Eurozone crisis could threaten Europe's banking system.
