City of Lights can lead to Paris syndrome

A trip to Paris is often associated with the chance to sample baguettes and camembert, and of course visit the Eiffel Tower. But sometimes their experience in the City of Light triggers unusual reactions among tourists. Japanese visitors, it seems, are particularly prone to problems, with the intense culture shock leading to serious, psychological issues during their trip. Psychiatrists call it Paris Syndrome. And it is no laughing matter.
