Kenya clamps down on illegal smuggling through port cities

The Kenyan port city of Mombasa has been in the spotlight over the years following allegations of the illegal importation of smuggled goods. The port is also used by drug traffickers to import and export narcotics.

The Kenyan governmen, through its interior cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiang’I, has announced strict measures to be enforced at all entry points into the country.
