This week’s quiz: On the 24th of April, I asked you a question about the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. This year’s festival will be held from the 6th through the 17th of July.

I asked you to write in with the answer to this question: who is the head of the jury which decides the prizes?

The answer is: Spike Lee. Spike Lee is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, actor, and professor. His production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, has produced more than 35 films since 1983.

The winners are: RFI Listeners Club members Mrs C O Agboola from Ekiti State, Nigeria; Mr Siddhartha Bhattacharjee from Medinipur in West Bengal, India; Sagor Mia - who is also the president of the “Let's Go on the Right Path and Tell the Truth Radio Listener Club” in Kishoreganj, Bangladesh; Jean-Maurice Devault from Montreal, Canada, and RFI English listener Miss Arundhati Mukherjee, from Barrackpore, West Bengal, India.

Congratulations winners!

Here’s the music you heard on this week’s programme: “La segonda retroencha”, a traditional 14th century French song, arranged by Martin Best and performed by the Martin Best Medieval Ensemble; “Melancolica” from Spanish Dances by Isaac Albeniz, performed by  Alicia de Larrocha; “There’s No Business Like Show Business” by Irving Berlin, performed by the Hit Crew Big Band; “The Flight of the Bumblebee” by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov; Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 14 by Felix Mendelssohn, performed by Jan Lisiecki, and “Tropismes” by Christine Ott, performed by the composer and Olivier Maurel.
