Tour de France winner Chris Froome

The focus is on the new Tour de France champion Chris Froome. Unfortunately, this year's race got off under the cloud of the continuous doping scandals, which many people thought had irreparably shaken people's confidence in the sport.

This time last year Lance Armstrong was considered a legend of the sport, having fought back from cancer to win the race seven times but the American has since been outed as a cheat and stripped of his titles.

And he is not the only one.

Of the 33 Tour wins since 1980, 17 have been tainted by doping.

The list includes the likes of Floyd Landis, Alberto Contador, Marco Pantani and Laurent Fignen. But that's a topic we explored in the programme during the midst of the Armstrong scandal last October.
