Three French players move to third round at US Open
The three French players who hit the courts of Flushing Meadows on Wednesday have earned their tickets to the third round, along with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga dominated his opponent Marcel Granollers in three sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-3. Three weeks after his quarter final in Montreal, he proved he was in a good condition, despite his loss at Cincinnati - a tournament he was never had much luck with.
When they last met in Barcelona last Spring, Granollers had won easily, 6-4, 6-2. But not this time around. After his match, Tsonga said he was really enjoying himself, and that he was happy with his game so far in the US Open.
Next round, the French N°4 and World N°18 will play Ukraine’s Sergiy Stakhovsky, an opponent he could easily beat, meaning the scenario of a Franco-French 8th of final could happen between Tsonga and hopeful Benoit Paire.
Paire had surprised everyone when he beat World N°4 Japanese Nei Nishikori during the first round on Monday. When playing against Turkey's Marsel Ilhan on Wednesday he said he did not play well, but he's done what was needed to secure a third round ticket. He won in four sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Jeremy Chardy won against Martin Klizan 7-5, 6-4, 7-6 and will play against the World's N°7 Spain’s David Ferer in his next match. He said he was feeling confident despite having lost seven of his eight last games against him.
