Fifa's Warner to learn extradition fate

The former vice-president of Fifa, Jack Warner, will find out on Friday whether he will be extradited to the United States to face corruption charges. The 72-year-old Trinidadian national is accused of accepting more than 150 million dollars in bribes over 20 years.

Warner was indicted in May by a US grand jury, along with 13 other current or former Fifa officials. Charges include racketeering, money-laundering and wire fraud.

Warner formerly oversaw the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (ConcacafConcacaf), which is Fifa's section in the Americas.

He denies the charges and is fighting his extradition.

Warner claims the case against him is politically motivated and accuses the United States of seeking revenge because it lost to Qatar in its bid to host the 2022 World Cup.
