Court hears Platini appeal over Fifa ban
Fifa vice-president Michel Platini's urgent appeal against his suspension from football's world governing body was heard Tuesday at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, in Lausanne, Switzerland. The court says he'll know if the ban will be lifted by this Friday 11 December at the latest.

The appeal is part of a new campaign by Platini to get back into the election for a new Fifa leader on 26 February.
In a statement, the court said it had invited both parties' counsel to attend a preliminary hearing.
In October Fifa's ethics committee suspended the 60-year-old Frenchman from all football activities for 90 days after he was linked to a criminal probe by Swiss prosecutors.
The committee is also investigating allegations of corruption against suspended Fifa boss Sepp Blatter.
It will hear from both men between 16 and 18 December when a Fifa spokesperson said they would "have the chance to present their positions".
In addition to the Swiss probe, the United States justice department has charged 14 former Fifa officials over bribery and corruption allegations totalling some 150 million dollars.
