EU plans help for unemployed youth

Issued on:

France hosted Germany on Tuesday to discuss how to resolve youth unemployment on a European level. In some EU countries, particularly in southern Europe, some 25 per cent of people under the age of 25 and not in full-time education are jobless. The European Union is due to meet on 28 June to firm up a rescue plan for unemployed young people. Mikkel Barslund, a Brussels-based EU-social policy specialist, takes a look at the proposals.
