Will wall keep illegal immigrants out of Turkey?

Issued on:

Turkey is constructing a two-metre-high wall along a small part of its border with Syria, to stop illegal immigrants from entering the country. Construction is underway in the Nusaybin district, a border town and trouble spot. However, there are questions over whether the wall will make Turkey more secure. To find out more, RFI asked Sinan Ulgen, the Chairman of the Centre for Economic and Foreign Policy Studies in Istanbul.
