This week voters in the UK will go to the polls for their one in five year chance of choosing their members of parliament. The campaign’s been one of the most hotly contested in decades, with the two main parties the Conservatives and Labour neck-and-neck in opinion polls. Since coming top in the European Parliament’s elections in the UK, the anti-EU party UKIP has been able to shape much of the political debate and led to the possibility of a referendum on EU membership become a core election issue.
