London's Bengalis ponder vote in UK general election

London's Bengalis ponder vote in UK general election

Brick Lane in the East End, London. Wikipedia

London has one of the largest immigrant populations in the country, including a Bangladeshi community. The East End area of Tower Hamlets, famous for the Tower of London and its former dockyards, is where the highest concentration of this community lives. Many settled here in the 1970s, drawn by cheap housing and easy access to the city centre. But the borough's recent economic transformation has seen property prices soar and a widening of the gap between rich and poor.
